ALBUMIN

GHRH analogue with an albumin-binding DAC linker. Basic endocrinological research.

Research field

What this is.

CJC-1295 with DAC is a synthetic analogue of growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH) and is derived from the active fragment GHRH(1-29). Four substitutions at positions 2, 8, 15 and 27 (D-Ala, Gln, Ala, Leu) reduce enzymatic degradation; at the C-terminus the molecule carries a maleimidopropionyl group via Lys30, the so-called Drug Affinity Complex. In preclinical models this linker binds covalently to cysteine-34 of serum albumin, which extends the circulation time compared with the variant without DAC. The target structure is the GHRH receptor, a class B GPCR of the anterior pituitary. The substance is studied as a tool in basic endocrinological research, among other things in the context of the somatotropic axis and of conjugation strategies that extend half-life.

Storage

Store the lyophilisate dry, protected from light and at 2–8 °C, and at −20 °C for longer storage periods. Shipping takes place without a cold chain: over the shipping period the lyophilisate is stable at ambient temperature, and transit times are short. Avoid repeated temperature changes and observe the date stated on the label.

Handling in the lab

The maleimidopropionyl group at Lys30 is sensitive to hydrolysis: avoid alkaline media and keep contact with atmospheric moisture short. Allow the vial to reach room temperature before opening so that no condensation settles on the lyophilisate, and keep it open only briefly. Beyond that, the general rules of laboratory hygiene apply: avoid generating dust, wear safety goggles, gloves and a lab coat, and work with open substance under a fume hood or in a safety cabinet. Record batch, quantity removed and date for your documentation, then return the vial promptly to cold storage. We do not issue any guidance on preparation or application.

Common questions

CJC-1295 DAC

For laboratory and research purposes only. The substance is not a medicinal product and is not intended for human or animal consumption. We issue neither dosages nor any guidance on application or preparation.

DAC stands for Drug Affinity Complex. It refers to a maleimidopropionyl group on the ε-amino group of lysine 30 at the C-terminus. In preclinical models this group reacts with the free cysteine-34 of serum albumin and forms a covalent thioether bond, which extends the peptide's circulation time.

Purely structurally: the variant without DAC (Modified GRF 1-29) ends after 29 amino acids and carries no linker, molecular formula C152H252N44O42, molar mass 3367.95 g/mol. The variant listed here additionally contains Lys30 with the maleimidopropionyl group, molecular formula C165H269N47O46, molar mass 3647.25 g/mol.

The GHRH receptor, a class B G protein-coupled receptor that is predominantly expressed in the anterior pituitary. The substance is used in basic endocrinological research as a GHRH analogue.

CJC-1295 with DAC is currently in preparation and cannot be ordered. Release takes place once analytical testing is complete, after which the item will be set to available in the shop. You can leave a notification request on the product page.
